Air Jordan 6 “Spiz’ike” – Release Reminder

The Air Jordan 6 will be back in stores tomorrow. On the way for a Saturday release is the Air Jordan 6 “Spiz’ike” pair here, which went through a couple of different nicknames on its way to retail. The final one sort of settled when it was revealed that the original Jordan Spiz’ike colorway would be coming on the same day – although comparisons to that pair were made from the get-go thanks to the liner graphics it shares with that shoe.

Nike Lunar Force 1 “World Basketball Festival”

You had to figure that Nike would be celebrating this year’s World Basketball Festival in Chicago with some special releases. What you may not have anticipated was a silhouette so totally literal. The Nike Lunar Force 1 “World Basketball Festival” (Release date August 14th) ends up with a pebbled look across the top meant to look like an actual basketball – and they’ve also got further markers of their hoops heritage sprinkled into the accents.

Asics Gel Lyte III “Red Bandana”

Remember that Asics Gel Lyte III “Red Bandana” previewed back in early June? The pair is finally hitting retailers in all of its Tupac looking glory (It seems like the black among the duo is lagging a little bit). The shoes feature that summertime bandana print on the inner lining and tongue, along with of white and black hit on the branding throughout.

Reebok Question “First Ballot” – Available for Pre-order at Packer Shoes

There’s no doubt that Allen Iverson will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame on his first try. While small in stature, no player in his era took the court with more heart and fearlessness than AI did, and that relentless approach to the game (paired with his trend-setting style off the court) is why Iverson is so revered to this day. On August 15th, his long-time endorsement partner Reebok will pay homage to the scoring machine with the Reebok Question “First Ballot”; the shoes will release at select Reebok retailers around the globe, but if you want to ensure your pair right now, head on over toPacker Shoes, which has made a pre-order available.

Reebok Pump Blacktop Battleground “Tribal”

The Reebok Blacktop Battleground “Tribal” pair shown here will release this Friday, August 8th. The sneakers do their best to orient themselves back to the glory days of 1990s streetball where the model was born by featuring a bright, wild print attached and a gum bottom look on bottom (There are some more standard colorways floating around though, if that’s your thing).

Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Wheat”

Foamposites have been a great alternative to the winter book thanks to the rugged and sturdy exterior and thick materials that make up the shoe. Northeasterners have been rocking Foams in the snow for a while, and Nike has even taken it to that route with the Foamdomes and such. It looks like the Air Foamposite Pro is getting the full wheat workboot treatment as we see the popular Nike Basketball model in a wheat suede upper, brown accents, the the workboot-style laces. Foamposite heads – are these a must-have for you? Is this enough to bring the once-dominant sneaker in the scene back to prominence?
